Counter-IED Training

At "Ratko Pavlović Ćićko" Barracks in Prokuplje, this week, SAF members belonging to the Engineer Corps have undergone Counter-IED Training.

This activity has been co-organized with Allied Joint Force Command Naples as part of the Partnership for Peace Program. The aim is to improve further the capabilities of the Platoon for Demining and UXO Disposal, 310th Engineer Battalion, 3rd Army Brigade.

Through lectures, discussions, and case studies, the International Instructors Team presented the SAF members with the procedures applied by NATO forces while dealing with IEDs, lessons learned from using un-manned platforms for such purposes, as well as modern trends followed in the tactics of combating such threats to the armed forces in an urban environment. Also, they exchanged experience on identifying, demining and destroying UXO.

Execution of this activity represents a continuation of a successful cooperation between the SAF and JFC Naples contributing towards further enhancement of SAF capabilities to identify, discover and destroy IEDs safely.
