Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović has met with KFOR Commander Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia in Belgrade today with whom he discussed the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

The discussion at the meeting, held against the backdrop of increased tensions in the north of the Province, covered the efforts to avoid further worsening of the security situation on the ground and provide a safe and secure environment for the Serbian population subjected to unlawful violence by the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Priština.

In a conversation, mutual commitment to preserving peace and stability has been expressed and it has been pointed out how important it is to have contacts at all levels between the Serbian Armed Forces and international forces in Kosovo and Metohija for a successful preventive action and prevention of crises from occurring in the territory of the southern Serbian province.

The Chief of the General Staff took a stance expressing our party’s expectation that KFOR, as the only legitimate armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija, will strictly, fully and impartially implement the mandate assigned under UNSC Resolution 1244 and protect the Serbs and their national, cultural, historical and religious heritage in the Province.
