Serbian Armed Forces Provide Help to Citizens of Ivanjica

Wednesday, 25.5.2022 | CIMIC
As part of a CIMIC project, in an effort to help the local government create conditions for a safe provision of power supplies, for the past two weeks, SAF members have been engaged in clearing the power grid in the Municipality of Ivanjica.

In the villages of Međurečje and Sveštica and the locality of Sađavac, the SAF Army Engineer Working Group has been removing growings and tree trunks in multiple areas, across 20km in total. Over the past years, during natural disasters, residents of Ivanjica and surrounding areas have experienced power cuts caused by such growings.

This activity was part of a CIMIC project executed through engineer training. Not only did it create conditions for a reliable power supply, but it also improved the skills of engineer units in performing general activities in support of forces on operation.

As many times before, SAF members were warmly welcomed by the local population that expressed gratitude adding that such activities show that the citizens of Serbia could rely on their Armed Forces anytime.

As part of the third mission, the SAF helped the citizens of this area on multiple occasions - being engaged in the reconstruction of the road and waterworks infrastructure, clearing the snow and providing water supplies. Implementing CIMIC projects and delivering assistance to the local population, in this area and beyond, are proofs of readiness and capabilities of the SAF to provide help to the citizens when they need it most.
