Upon request from the Mayor of the Municipality of Sjenica, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been providing drinking water to the residents of the Pešter Highland villages since Saturday.

For such purposes, the Serbian Armed Forces have employed three water tankers with the total capacity of 13,000 l of water, thus creating conditions for safe provisions for local population, and for providing water to cattle that could have died from drought.

During the weekend, members of the Serbian Armed Forces were delivering water and refilling wells and tankers in the villages of Bioc, Buđevo, Dolići, Karajukića Bunari, Ostra and Rasno, and will remain on site as required.

Previously, to create conditions for delivering water to the cattle in the Pešter Highland villages, the Serbian Armed Forces had engaged an engineer task force to dig new watering places and arrange and clear the existing ones as part of the civil-military cooperation project this month.

This time as well, the Serbian Armed Forces have shown that they are ready to provide assistance to citizens whenever needed. They have helped this area on multiple occasions by building roads and waterworks, clearing snow, supplying water and providing health care to the residents of the remotest villages.
